A beautiful December day with the low mid-winter sun making sun-glasses a very useful accessory.
13 turned up at Wingerworth’s Avenue complex for a fine five mile circuit.

Moss Valley

A small group of four met in the car park behind the Bridge Inn at Ford for a short winter walk.
Although short, it was not flat, as it climbed one side of the Moss Valley to Haven Farm via Litfield Farm and Ridgeway, before dropping back to the Moss again via Plumbley and West Mosborough.
The route then switched to the southern side of the valley and climbed up through Ince Piece Wood, along Lady Ida’s Drive and Back Lane almost to Bramley, before descending to the Moss again.
It finished with a section by the side of the Moss on the Sheffield Country Walk.
Unfortunately, the cloudy and wet weather meant the views across the Moss Valley and south from Back Lane were not clear.
Distance 7.5 miles ; Ascent 1200 ft
