 Anyone for an abseil ?
It was back to a grey November day for Terry & Eileen’s Monsal Head circular.
A group of 24, including a lady visiting from Grimsby, made their way via Blackwell, Priestcliffe, and Brushfield on a 12 mile route.
A little drizzle, but rain held off until the end.

The health benefits of walking
Seven members participated in a linear walk of about four miles from Chesterfield Railway Station to Holymoorside in grey but fine weather this morning.
As befits this type of walk the route was pretty flat but mostly traffic free and all enjoyed the exercise – and using some paths new to some.

Birchen Edge with Nelson’s Monument
A glorious November day brought out a total of 35 members for a classic Baslow circular from the Robin Hood pub.
An anti-clockwise route below Birchen Edge, on to Baslow Edge, with lunch at Chatsworth House before finishing – still in autumn sunshine. What a difference a day makes !

Five Pits Trail
A fine start to November saw the ‘long bus’ group travel to Bolsover for a 10 mile linear walk to Clay Cross.
A footpath link between two of our area’s towns.
Crossing the M1 and A617 the party of 11, led by David, made their way via Heath, the Five Pits Trail (with lunch at the Timber Lane picnic site), and Danesmoor for buses back to Chesterfield.
